Serving Up More Delicious Weather!

(Sunday, July 19, 2009) – The Sunday Evening surface weather map showed high pressure dominating from Chicago to Birmingham. A frontal boundary near the Gulf Coast divided the summer-time heat and humidity from this delicious weather we’ve been enjoying which have included some record cool nights and record cool days as well.

This intrusion of Canadian air is made possible by the dominance of an upper atmospheric trough. Its axis extends from James Bay Canada to the Gulf Coast.

The question is how long will this good weather pattern last? It appears that the general pattern of a ridge over the west and trough over the east should predominate for the work week. The trough will relax a bit and this will let out temperatures moderate somewhat as the week progresses.

A surface trough/front and upper level disturbance will bring us rain chances from the Tuesday night through Thursday night time frame. We may pull off staying out of the 90s all week. Enjoy!
