Coolest String of Days for the Season Coming
(Wednesday, November 5, 2008) – Like the last several mornings, the weather around Jackson and West TN is quiet. Skies are clear and temperatures just before dawn were in the 40s. Little if any wind was noted.
Today Through Thursday Night
High pressure will serve up another great weather day today as a storm system continues to emerge into the Plains. The system will push a cold front through our area on Thursday and Thursday night and its arrival will be accompanied by showers and thunderstorms. It appears that the instability will be limited and the severe weather threat is quite low. Nevertheless a strong thunderstorm can’t be ruled out. Rainfall amounts should average around one-half inch.
Friday Through Tuesday
Dry conditions but below average temperatures will settle into the area for the weekend. High pressure with a Canadian tap will give us a stark difference in temps. After enjoying daytime highs in the 70s for the last several days, the weekend’s highs will be in the 50s. Nightime lows will be in the 30s.
More rain is on the horizon but it will be the first of next week. A storm system will come across the southern Plains and move into the Lower Ohio Valley. Clouds, showers and thunderstorms will return on Monday into Monday night. Much cooler weather will be noted on Tuesday. There are early hints of temperatures in the 40s on Tuesday. We’ll let you know. Eddie Holmes, C.B.M.
