November Temperatures WILL Return by Week’s End
(Monday, November 03, 2008) – It’s unquestionably blue ribbon weather! We will continue to enjoy it through the middle of the week before a down-turn of temperatures which will level out to readings more indicative of late-November. Clear skies prevail just before dawn and winds are light. Temperatures are generally between 40 and 45 degrees.
Today through Wednesday Night
We will be on the east side of an developing trough of low pressure over the plains during this period. This will keep the pleasant temperatures in place and result in warmer nighttime readings. Dry weather with morning lows in the 40s and daytime highs in the 70s will be the rule.
Thursday Through Sunday
The Plains storm system will shoot into the Great Lakes region and sling a cold front through our area on Thursday. This won’t happen without some noise! Look for the possibility of a line of thunderstorms which will accompany the front and some of the thunderstorms could become severe. The Storm Prediction Center is still watching for that potential (see graphic).
High pressure building in behind the front will take temperatures tumbling. I’m posting highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s and 40s for the up-coming weekend.
