A Stormy Spring Week This Week
5:10 am – It is expected to be a mild stormy week this week with a potential severe weather outbreak on Thursday. There will actually be two severe weather threats this week.
A cold front will move into the region on Tuesday afternoon and night setting off showers and thunderstorms. By the time the storms reach West TN, they should be weakening. However, a *Slight* risk of severe thunderstorms exists Tuesday afternoon and evening west of a line from Paris Landing to Jackson to Somerville.
The second of the two weather systems appears to be the one Thursday and Thursday night. Low pressure will develop over the souther plains on Thursday morning and move into the Middle Mississippi Valley by Thursday evening. The upper level dynamics and the expected instability in the region could produce a significant severe weather outbreak which would include damaging winds, hail and tornadoes.
Area residents should stay abreast of the weather this week as it develops.
